Ylaria (she/her) is a Canberra based director, actor, dramaturg and producer. She has collaborated across Australia, London, Vietnam, this includes working at VCA, The Universe - Hanoi, and her own production companies, Heart Strings Theatre Co and Freefall Productions. 

In early 2021 Ylaria founded Canberra’s first semi-professional musical theatre company, Heart Strings Theatre Co. Its debut was a sell-out season of Urinetown The Musical, in Canberra September 2022. This led to a sell-out production at The Hayes in Sydney, January of 2023. This was followed by a critically acclaimed production of The Hello Girls at CTC in 2024 where she played the role of Suzanne. 

In 2020 she was selected for The Street’s Early Phase creative development program for her piece “You Are Not Alone”, advocating to change society’s perception of those who have suffered childhood sexual abuse. The piece aims to destigmatize and release shame in talking about these events and empower the voice of the survivor. 

She previously appeared in Lakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ in the role of Celia and ‘Twelfth Night’ as Olivia. She most recently appeared as Cassie in Free Rain’s ‘A Chorus Line’ opposite Michael Cooper. (Now they are back, in…er, slightly different roles.)
